Emmasierra Songs and Wormhole World Records are delighted to introduce to you the fifth full-length album by Fran Dominguez as Forest Robots, 'Amongst A Landscape Of Spiritual Reckoning'. This collection explores themes of spirituality, existentialism, and ethics and how each relates to the experience of parenthood amidst great global cultural instability.
Throughout the album's ten compositions, Fran compares different aspects of nature’s cycles to our own spiritual and philosophical cycles, and draws an analogous parallel between our external surroundings and our internal state of being in hopes of bringing to light a more empathic way of understanding our struggles in life.
Much of the album draws musical inspiration from Jon Hassell, Gigi Masin, Weather Report, Nick Drake and channels similar energy signifiers as John Coltrane’s 'A Love Supreme', Pharoah Sanders’ 'Thembi', and Rahsaan Roland Kirk’s 'Prepare Thyself To Deal With A Miracle' in exploring his own spiritual journeys with his daughter.
